We all would be lying to ourselves if we didn’t believe that Jordon Ibe had the potential to be a world-beater at Liverpool. However, things change with time, and unfortunately, his career graph does not look as great as one would have hoped for it to be back in 2012.
He’s only 27 and there’s surely a lot of football left in him. The player recently opened up about tough times off the pitch due to his injury frequencies and that has certainly played a huge part in Ibe not being able to explore his potential to the best of his abilities.
But to put all of that behind now, Ibe has secured a move to National League side Ebbsfleet United and hopefully, Ibe could focus on his football there and try and get his career back on the right path.
In a total of 57 appearances for Liverpool, Ibe scored on four occasions, assisting seven goals as well. If all went his way, these numbers would have been soaring high at this point in time. However, we cannot change the past.
Ibe’s decision to join Ebbsfleet offers him the opportunity to focus on his football and leave behind the challenges that have plagued his career. Playing in the National League could provide the platform he needs to rebuild his confidence, fitness, and form.
While his path has deviated from the lofty expectations set during his early days at Liverpool, it’s important to remember that Ibe is still relatively young and has time to shape his future in football.
For Jordon Ibe, the journey ahead may not follow the initial script that was written for him, but the hope remains that he can rediscover the form and potential that once made him a promising star at Liverpool.
As Ibe embarks on his new chapter with Ebbsfleet United, Liverpool fans will be watching and hoping that he can overcome the obstacles he’s faced and find his way back to the top of his game.
