Manchester City could rival Liverpool for Bayern Munich superstar Jamal Musiala
Jamal Musiala is a name that needs no introduction considering his exploits for Bayern Munich and it looks like Pep Guardiola and Manchester City are set to rival Liverpool for his signature.
The German prodigy has been one of the best young talents in world football in the past few years. In fact, he has caught the eye so much that he can even be considered one of Bayern’s best players last campaign and has started off very well this time around.
A player who had the unique distinction of having the opportunity to choose between representing England and Germany at the highest level, the Bayern Munich man chose to go with the latter and is already a regular in Julian Nagelsmann’s team.
According to Football Insider (h/t Liverpool Echo), Liverpool are not alone in the race for the 20-year-old and could face competition from Premier League rivals Manchester City with Pep Guardiola also said to be keen on the player.
It is never good news when City are interested in the same player as you. We cannot match their financial might and more often than not, when they want to make a signing, they make sure they get it done.
Kevin de Bruyne has become injury-prone in recent times and missed the start of the season after an injury he suffered in the opening game. The Belgian superstar is not getting any younger either and Musial seems to be the natural replacement for him.
Meanwhile, at Liverpool, we went through a midfield revamp in the summer but there is work still to be done. Considering his profile and the system that we play, Jamal Musiala can play multiple roles within our system and his ability to adapt stands out.
With two-and-a-half years left on his deal with the Bundesliga champions, Bayern are not going to make the life of any club interested in him any easier, if they decide to sell him in the first place. However, City are not likely to be put off by this.

We though, have shown in the past that we are willing to go that extra mile if we really rate the player. How far we can go for Musiala remains to be seen and this is one of the interesting sagas to keep an eye out on in the upcoming months.
