“Another four weeks”- Jurgen Klopp provides latest injury update on Thiago and Bajcetic before Liverpool vs Luton Town

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp provides update on Thiago Alcantara and Stefan Bajcetic

In case you forgot, Stefan Bajcetic and Thiago Alcantara are still Liverpool players, still. Jokes apart, it has been very long since we have seen the midfield duo play a game or two for the Reds. Both are still in recovery mode at the moment, and Jurgen Klopp spoke about the pair.

Thiago’s hip injury issues continue to be a cause of distress for himself, as well as the fans, who wish to see him back in action as soon as possible. Bajcetic on the other hand, ever since his adductor injury back in March, has not featured for the Reds.

While we all know how injury-prone Thiago is, Stefan’s problems see themselves deep-rooted in improper recovery. He played too much football for an 18-year-old last season, and for a decent stretch, we depended a lot on the teenager. The effects are now showing.

Thiago and Stefan Bajcetic have not featured for Liverpool in what feels like forever.

Speaking to the press ahead of the Reds’ trip to Luton, manager Jurgen Klopp provided an update on the situation of Thiago and Bajcetic

. Here is what he had to say via ECHO:

“Thiago is an ongoing thing. We cannot put any pressure there as well. We expect him to be back start of the New Year. Another four weeks, I would say that is realistic. I can’t wait to have him back. No week on week update.”

While the exact return date remains elusive, Klopp’s optimism and eagerness to welcome Thiago back into the team are palpable. The Spanish midfielder’s ability to dictate the tempo of the game and unlock opposing defences with his impeccable passing make him an invaluable asset to Liverpool’s midfield. 2024 is when we could expect him back.

Speaking of Bajcetic, the setbacks faced by him have tempered the enthusiasm surrounding his return. However, Klopp’s commitment to nurturing young talents is unwavering. The manager has a penchant for developing and promoting emerging stars, and Bajcetic remains a promising prospect for the future.
