Liverpool have reached a verbal agreement with Fluminense for Andre Trindade
Liverpool have reportedly reached a verbal agreement with Fluminense midfielder Andre Trindade ahead of a potential transfer, according to journalist Francois Plateau.
The Reds have been heavily linked with a move for the highly-rated Brazilian talent in recent months. And now, French journalist Francois Plateau (h/t Liverpool Echo) claims Trindade has already struck an agreement with Liverpool over a switch to Anfield. However, Plateau noted that so far there is no official deal in place between the clubs themselves.
But Trindade appears to have given Liverpool his word that he will join once the paperwork is finalized between the sides. The 20-year-old admitted last week that the Premier League giants held talks over signing him in the summer window just passed.
A transfer failed to materialize then, but Trindade revealed Liverpool maintained their strong interest in securing his services. Now it seems that interest may have already resulted in a personal terms agreement, even if a fee is yet to be formalized.
Trindade has shone in Brazil, making over 50 first-team appearances for Fluminense over the past two seasons. He helped them to the Copa Libertadores title last night against Boca Juniors.
His technical quality and range of passing from deep midfield has caught Liverpool’s eye. While the Reds have mostly revamped their midfield roster, the lack of a number six who can don the role in the long term needs to be addressed.
Capturing Trindade’s signature before a rival can would be considered a real coup for Liverpool’s recruitment team.

If Plateau’s report is accurate, the Reds may already be in the box seat to wrap up a deal once the window reopens. Trindade would provide competition for Liverpool’s current crop of elite midfielders as Klopp reshapes his engine room.
