Dominik Szoboszlai talks about his first Liverpool training session
Dominik Szoboszlai has expressed his delight at being a part of the new-look Liverpool squad under the management of Jurgen Klopp.
The Hungarian midfielder, who has made a significant impact in his 17 appearances for the Reds so far, shared his impressions of the team’s quality during his initial days at Anfield.
Szoboszlai’s adaptation to the Liverpool setup has been impressive, with the midfielder showcasing his skills on the pitch. His arrival has added another dimension to Klopp’s midfield options, contributing both creatively and defensively. Especially after last season’s horrid times in the middle of the park for the Reds.
In a recent interview with Football Focus via liverpoolfc.com, Szoboszlai couldn’t hide his amazement at the level of talent within Klopp’s squad. The 23-year-old compared the experience to playing a video game. Here is what he said:
“It’s crazy. When I came, [in] the first days I was like, ‘Am I on PlayStation or something?!’”
Szobo for the Reds
The Hungarian’s comments highlight the high calibre of players at Liverpool and the impact it has on newcomers. The squad’s quality and depth create a competitive environment that drives players to elevate their performances, fostering a culture of excellence.
It was very important for the Reds to get on board a number of midfielders over the summer. The Reds certainly did that, and to an extent where we can actually see and feel the change in energy in the middle of the park. The likes of Szobo, Alexis Mac Allister, Ryan Gravenberch and Wataru Endo have all contributed greatly to the Liverpool cause this season and the expectations surely keep growing.
As the season progresses, supporters can look forward to witnessing more of Szoboszlai’s contributions and understanding how he further integrates into Klopp’s tactical plans. 17 appearances, two goals and as many assists and hopefully, there is more to come soon.
