Summer signing showers praise on new look weapon in the Liverpool arsenal

Endo praises new-look midfield unity but warns no Liverpool stars can rest on laurels

Liverpool FC’s summer midfield overhaul appears to be paying dividends already judging by Wataru Endo and his enthusiastic appraisal of the squad harmony and fierce competition for starting roles.

In an interview published on Liverpool’s official website, Endo spoke glowingly about the collective mentality of the Reds’ refreshed engine room. The Japan international believes the influx of new signings has elevated standards.

“We have very good midfielders, and we are teammates who play altogether.”

He added that being surrounded by so many quality options is accelerating his own development as he constantly learns from new colleagues.

Endo specifically highlighted Alexis Mac Allister as an inspiration, praising the Argentine’s defensive diligence, offensive awareness and winning mentality despite his youth. He feels they complement each other nicely in central roles.

However, Endo was also keen to stress the entire Liverpool squad must stay on their toes, even with the club currently riding high near the Premier League summit.

“You don’t only play the starting XI so it’s important that everybody is always ready for playing,”

Liverpool’s summer signings have hit the mark

Endo’s glowing appraisal of the selfless team ethic bodes well for Liverpool sustaining their early season form. A refreshed midfield was Liverpool’s priority after losing dressing-room leaders like James Milner, Jordan Henderson, Fabinho, and Naby Keita this year and the signs suggest that the mission was accomplished.

Combining proven winners like Thiago Alcantara with hungry emerging talents like Dominik Szoboszlai, Alexis Mac Allister and Wataru Endo has created both continuity and healthy competition. Endo feels everyone is contributing, whether starting or from the bench.

Sustaining the high standards set so far and keeping egos in check will be the next test if Liverpool are to last the title pace. Rotation will be key to preventing complacency and fatigue.

But Endo’s upbeat assessment reveals a Liverpool midfield collective determined to drive each other to new heights. Their strength in depth could be pivotal in the gruelling games ahead.
