Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is full of praise for Caoimhin Kelleher

Jurgen Klopp has recently expressed his unwavering confidence in the club’s second-choice goalkeeper, Caoimhin Kelleher, affirming that the young shot-stopper is more than ready to assume the role of a No.1 goalkeeper at Liverpool.

The German tactician spoke highly of Kelleher’s exceptional talents, emphasising that the coaching staff witnesses his prowess daily on the training ground. “Yeah, no doubt. No doubt (on him being ready to be a No.1). We see him every day in training. He is an exceptional, exceptional talent. Maybe we don’t mention his name often enough, but it is a John Achterberg thing. From day one when I am in, he told me this will be our homegrown boy who will make it. Since then, we see every step. He was a boy and now he’s a man. And yeah, top goalie, no doubt.”

The manager acknowledged the role of John Achterberg, Liverpool’s goalkeeping coach, who foresaw Kelleher’s ascent from the early days of his career at the club.
