Liverpool wants to sign Hoffenheim forward Maximilian Beier to bolster their attacking lineup

Liverpool are planning to sign Hoffenheim forward Maximilian Beier to bolster their attacking lineup for the next season. The Reds’ attacking lineup has been wasteful in front of goal, missing big chances despite performing so well.

Beier has been among the most promising talents since his teenage years at Hoffenheim. The 21-year-old made his Bundesliga debut at 17 years of age, becoming the club’s youngest-ever debutant at the time.

The German U21 is versatile enough to play on the wing while his natural position is that of a forward. Standing at 1.85 metres in height, the 21-year-old is well-built to compete for duels aerially and on the ground.

Beier has an impressive pace and off-the-ball movement to exploit spaces and break down the defensive line. The 21-year-old has incredible shooting technique and an eye for the goal, possessing good composure in front of the goal.

Beier has made 15 appearances for Hoffenheim, scoring six goals and producing four assists in all competitions. The young German has shown a great work ethic and all-round contribution to his team, on and off the ball.

Sky Sports reporter Florian Plettenberg (via X) indicated Liverpool’s interest in acquiring the services of the 21-year-old. Beier’s €30m release clause, available for exploitation in the summer of 2024, presents an appealing opportunity for potential suitors, making him an attractive acquisition. Plettenberg informed that multiple English clubs have received information regarding the contractual details due to significant interest from various top clubs.

The Reds are currently sitting at the top of the Premier League table but the competition at the top is very close. Liverpool’s attackers have been able to produce good performances and create many big chances during this season.

However, the Reds’ attackers have been wasteful in front of goals, missing many big chances. Liverpool’s main forward Darwin Nunez has faced criticism for his lack of composure leading to many big misses.

Nunez has missed 15 big chances in the Premier League this season, ranking just behind Erling Haaland in second place. Mohamed Salah, Liverpool’s leading goal scorer, also ranks sixth in the category of big chances missed.
