Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says his squad is feeling fresh after the winter break

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp talks about a refreshed squad after the winter break

Liverpool FC had a ten-day gap between their Carabao Cup SF First leg against Fulham and the upcoming Premier League clash against Bournemouth. The Reds have had a sufficient break between the games, and so is the case for the Cherries who played their last game on 6th January in the FA Cup against QPR. Jurgen Klopp spoke about the break and talked about coming back fresh.

Here is what the manager had to say in his pre-match press conference via the club’s official website ahead of the visit to the Cherries:

“Nobody wanted to have three or four weeks, we are in the middle of a season [and] we love what happened so far, we are looking forward to what’s coming up, but these four days were just top-class. Now we are the third day in training again and you can see the boys, as much as they like going on holiday, the thing they like most is actually playing football and that’s really cool to see.”

In the rhythm of a football season, where every match carries weighty aspirations, Klopp expressed contentment with a brief pause. The break, though concise, provided players with a chance to recharge both physically and mentally, returning to the training ground with a newfound enthusiasm which will surely help in terms of results.

Boss.

In any case, pro footballers love playing football more than anything else and that is what Klopp mentioned as well. These players would surely be itching to come back soon and make a strong push for the title as we approach the business end of the season.

Recharged Reds!

However, amid the anticipation of returning to action, Klopp acknowledged the persistent challenge of injuries. A string of sidelined stars, including Thiago Alcantara, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Stefan Bajcetic, Ben Doak, Joel Matip, Andy Robertson, Dominik Szoboszlai and Kostas Tsimikas poses hurdles for the upcoming encounters. The absence of Wataru Endo and Mo Salah, away at the Asian Cup and Africa Cup of Nations, surely adds an additional layer of complexity to Klopp’s tactical planning.

The stage is set at Vitality Stadium, and Liverpool fans await the resumption of the action to see the club make their final push towards the Premier League title.
