Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp is preparing to offload two stars in January
Jurgen Klopp doesn’t seem to be too impressed with Liverpool star Nat Phillips as the team prepares to send him and Calvin Ramsay out on loan before the end of the month, as reported by The Daily Mail (h\t Mirror). The 26-year-old centre-back has struggled for playing time at Anfield.
Phillips was a regular feature for the team back in the 2020-21 season. However, once superstar Virgil van Dijk returned to the lineup, the English defender fell down the pecking order and has struggled for minutes ever since. He has just recently returned from a loan spell at Celtic and will soon be on his way again.
Calvin Ramsay on the other hand has been a positive sight for the team. He has only made two appearances under Jurgen Klopp but is highly rated by the Liverpool crowd. Leeds United are reportedly leading the race for the 20-year-old, hopefully he can develop well during his time away from Anfield. Fans will be expecting him to make an impact upon his return.
On the other hand, both Cardiff City FC and Blackburn Rovers are interested in singing Nat Phillips with Leeds United also said to be in the running. If all goes well, both Ramsay and Phillips may end up playing for Leeds this season.
The 26-year-old will be out of contract next year. There is not a lot of time left for him to prove himself. If Phillips performs during his time away from the club, Jurgen Klopp might just consider extending the English defender on a new deal.
However, Nat Phillips’ recent form has left a lot to be desired and Liverpool could be tempted to include a buy option into his loan deal.
