Liverpool star Alexis Mac Allister wants to give Jurgen Klopp a perfect parting gift by winning the Premier League title

Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister assured the fans that the exit announcement of Jurgen Klopp added incentive for the team. Mac Allister expressed that the squad want to give their best to deliver a proper farewell gift for the 56-year-old.

Klopp announced that he would be leaving the club after feeling burnt out by the high-pressure and ever-so-demanding job. At the end of the current season, Jurgen Klopp, the German manager, will depart, concluding a successful era for the Reds.

Even though the Liverpool fanbase would give anything to see their beloved manager stay, they understand his reasoning. There is nothing more important than the physical and mental health of Klopp.

Liverpool are currently at the top of the Premier League table with Arsenal and Manchester City right behind them. The situation leaves no margin for slip-ups as the most consistent team would eventually grab the title.

The Reds also take every cup competition seriously as the Carabao Cup final against Chelsea awaits. They have already progressed successfully in both the FA Cup and the Europa League.

Speaking about Klopp’s impending departure (h/t Guardian), Mac Allister assured that the news provides an added incentive to succeed. He said:

“The manager saying he is leaving has given us a greater incentive. I don’t know if that was his idea when he made the announcement, but it’s definitely become an incentive. We all know what Jürgen means to this club and the fans and we want the best for him. We really understand and respect his decision and now we want to do our best to give him a very good season before he leaves.”

The Argentine also talked about the new number-six role, expressing his happiness to help the team in whichever way possible. He added:

“No, not really. It was clearly not the idea. But things changed. At the beginning of the season, we didn’t have a proper No 6 so I had to do the job. Jürgen likes it. So I try to do my best and it’s all about helping the team.”

Klopp deployed Mac Allister in the deep role to allow specialist number-six Wataru Endo to adjust to the new league. Endo produced brilliant performances before joining Japan for the Asian Cup as the Argentine again filled the role.
