Liverpool have to battle Manchester City and Arsenal to sign Brighton winger Kaoru Mitoma who prioritizes a Premier League stay

Brighton’s Kaoru Mitoma wants to continue in the Premier League with Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal willing to sign him. Mitoma has dazzled the Premier League crowd since joining the Seagulls in the summer of 2021 from Kawasaki Frontale.

The 26-year-old spent his first year on loan at Union SG to earn important European experience at the Belgian club. In the 2022-23 season, he established himself in the Brighton setup and showed his immense talent.

Mitoma prefers to operate as the left winger from where he can use his pace and immense dribbling ability. His dominant foot is right which allows him to cut inside and shoot or create chances from the narrow channels.

The Japan international’s unpredictability on the ball alongside close control and numerous trickeries makes him hard to challenge. He is capable of going down the byline as easily as he can cut inside and build critical chances.

The 26-year-old’s creativity, the link-up play with his teammates and his dribbling has earned him a steep rise in reputation. He has made 25 appearances in all competitions this season, contributing with three goals and six assists so far.

Spanish publication El Nacional reported that Mitoma prefers to stay in the Premier League despite the interest from Barcelona. The three interested parties and current Premier League title contenders are Man City, Arsenal, and the Reds.

Mitoma could be a strong addition to each of the top three clubs in the Premier League, bolstering their attack. The Reds have an extraordinarily strong and diverse attacking department with most players capable of playing in multiple positions.

While the Japanese forward mostly plays in the left-wing position which is currently occupied by Luis Diaz, he would be a marquee signing. Mitoma brings the unique creative ability and qualities to create a counter-attack that would benefit Liverpool and other attacking players.
