Premier League legend Jose Mourinho puts Manchester City over Liverpool in a blunt Premier League title prediction

Former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho expects Manchester City over Liverpool to triumph in the Premier League title chase. The Reds are currently at the top of the Premier League table, closely followed by the Citizens and Arsenal.

However, Man City have a game in hand and winning it would put them at the top of the table. Mourinho completely ignored Arsenal in the conversation for the Premier League title, giving Liverpool an outside chance.

Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa also chasing the top three closely with only eight points separating them from the top. The narrow margins leave no room for complacency and errors as the team capable of building a winning streak wins.

Speaking to Stephen Howson and Rio Ferdinand in an interview on FIVE (h/t YouTube), Mourinho predicted Liverpool and City as top contenders. He said:

“Premier League… City? Liverpool? So, like that I am not I am not making a mistake. City, Liverpool, but I think City.”

The Citizens under Pep Guardiola have earned a reputation for making a strong push at the end to win titles. Last season, they returned from an eight-point gap against the Gunners to win the Premier League title.

Meanwhile, The Reds have lost only two games but one of those losses came recently against title rivals Arsenal. Liverpool have a strong squad but the numerous injuries to their main players are catching up on them.

These youngsters need to build consistent performances for the Reds if they want to challenge the dominating rivals from Manchester. Furthermore, Liverpool are challenging for every cup competition this season, showing ultimate ambition for the quadruple once again.
