Xabi Alonso gave a coy response when asked about Liverpool and Bayern Munich links

Xabi Alonso has repeatedly been linked to Liverpool ever since Jurgen Klopp announced his intentions to step down as head coach of the Reds at the end of the season. However, the Anfield management aren’t the only ones that are trying to lure the former Liverpool man back to their club. His exceptional form with Bayer Leverkusen has also prompted Bayern Munich to consider Alonso as a replacement for Thomas Tuchel who is also leaving at the end of the season.

After years of Bundesliga dominance, Munich have finally been put in the backseat for the title. The ones who are currently in the driving seat are none other than Xabi Alonso and his Bayer Leverkusen.

“Bayern, Liverpool? I have nothing new to say,”

“Right now I’m Bayer Leverkusen coach and that’s certain. Regarding the future, I have nothing new to say.”

Xabi Alonso has made it clear that his main priority at the moment is leading Bayer Leverkusen. The 44-year-old has transformed the team in such a way that they are yet to lose a single game this season, in both domestic and European competitions.

So while talk surrounding his future continues to go wild, Xabi Alonso is fully focused on taking Leverkusen to newer heights.
