Liverpool star has been the point of difference when the Reds face Chelsea, as revealed by incredible stat

A lot of people expected Liverpool to be facing an uphill battle against Chelsea ahead of their Carabao Cup final. Jurgen Klopp was missing a lot of his team’s stars for a very important game. People expected this to hurt morale and lead to mistakes. However, the Reds showed great character and gave it their all to finally lift their 10th League Cup throughout club history.

It was a closely contested game throughout the entirety of its 90 minutes plus extra time. Only one goal separated both teams, which came through the head of Liverpool skipper Virgil van Dijk. The one goal can be deceiving since this wasn’t a boring game at all.

It had enough attacks to be a high-scoring affair. However, it was Caoimhin Kelleher who was the point of difference for the Reds and protected the goal with his all. While doing so the 25-year-old goal has proved his dominance against Pochettino and his men as highlighted by his excellent stats.

A post that has been making the rounds on X shows that Kelleher has conceded zero goals against Chelsea in two finals despite facing over 13 shots on target. This goes to show that the Reds’ fate could’ve been very different if it wasn’t for the 25-year-old doing an excellent job in goal.

Virgil Van Dijk might have won the game for Liverpool, but there wouldn’t be a game to win if it wasn’t for Kelleher’s excellent performance.
