Liverpool have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Tobias Slotsager
Liverpool have been counting on young talent for a very long time. A practice that the club hopes Jurgen Klopp’s successor will continue. Their win in the Carabao Cup last night wouldn’t have been possible if it wasn’t for the stellar performances of the Reds’ Academy players. Now the team might just be adding another youngster to the list, as 18-year-old Tobias Slotsager has taken a transfer stance.
As reported by Liverpool.com, The Superliga player confirmed that he has been a long-time fan of Liverpool and feels flattered by all of the transfer talk that has linked him to the club.
The Reds aren’t the only ones who are keen on acquiring the 18-year-old. Premier League rivals, Aston Villa and Dutch side Ajax are also interested in Slotsager, but the centre-back seems to have his mind set on Liverpool.
Slotsager has made 18 appearances this season, and the people have been most impressed by his ability as a ball-playing defender. Moreover, his tall frame of 1.88m also makes him excellent for blocking shots.
However, this is all just speculation at the moment. There haven’t been a lot of signs indicating that the Reds have a concrete plan to go after 18-year-old Slotsager during the summer.
