Video: Injured Liverpool duo pictured in training gear ahead of Southampton clash

Liverpool duo Wataru Endo and Ryan Gravenberch were spotted at the AXA training centre despite leaving the Carabao Cup final injured

Wataru Endo and Ryan Gravenberch provided hope to the Liverpool fans after their injury scare during the Carabao Cup victory. Endo left the Wembley stadium on crutches after putting in an exhausting 120-minute shift against Chelsea on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Gravenberch was stretchered off during the first half of the game after suffering a malicious tackle from Moises Caicedo. Referee Chris Kavanagh suffered the wrath of Jurgen Klopp for failing to award a foul and further punishment to Caicedo.

The refereeing decisions annoyed everyone associated with the club throughout the game, particularly due to the ever-increasing injury crisis. Trent Alexander-Arnold, Curtis Jones, Joel Matip, Diogo Jota, Thiago Alcantara, Stefan Bajcetic and Alisson Becker face a lengthy recovery period.

Liverpool midfielder Wataru Endo has been a pivotal part of the team, developing a formidable midfield partnership with Alexis Mac Allister.

Furthermore, Dominik Szoboszlai, Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez missed the Carabao Cup final and they are still under observation. Liverpool cannot afford to lose more senior team players as the fate of other trophies hangs in the balance.

Liverpool FC’s official X account posted a video showing behind-the-scenes footage of the players with the Carabao Cup. The video included a cameo of Endo and Gravenberch, giving hope to the fanbase that their injuries are not serious.

The video did not reveal a clear view of Gravenberch but he could still miss a couple of games as the best-case scenario. At the same time, Endo looks in better shape and could feature in the matchday squad for the FA Cup tie against Southampton but currently, the fitness of both players is up for speculation. After all, since then, Jurgen Klopp confirmed that Gravenberch will miss at least two games.

Endo has been a pivotal part of Klopp’s squad this season, producing impressive performances for the club. He joined the Reds during the summer from Stuttgart in a surprise move due to his age and obscure reputation.

Klopp deployed Alexis Mac Allister in the deep midfield position to allow Endo to adapt to the pace of the Premier League. The Japan Captain produced consistent performances once he settled into the new league, proving his naysayers wrong. Endo has built a remarkable partnership with Mac Allister in recent games that could play a critical role ahead.

Meanwhile, the Reds signed Gravenberch from Bayern Munich in the summer after he struggled to establish himself in Germany. The 21-year-old has shown a glimpse of his qualities and abilities that could make him another bargain signing.
