Former Premier League star Mido says Mohamed Salah will move from Liverpool to Saudi this summer

Former Premier League star Mido has stirred the football world with a bombshell claim regarding Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, suggesting that the Egyptian forward has already agreed to move to Saudi Arabia next season.

Salah’s potential departure to the Saudi Pro League has been a topic of speculation, with Al-Ittihad’s £150m bid for him last summer seeing itself rejected by Liverpool on deadline day. Despite the failed attempt, it appears that Saudi Arabia remain keen on securing Salah’s services, and according to Mido, Salah put pen to paper a deal to make the switch, although the specific club he’s agreed to join remains undisclosed.

“Mohamed Salah will be in the Saudi League next season,” Mido revealed on Twitter (Now X), sparking a wave of discussions and debates among football enthusiasts worldwide. Salah’s current contract with Liverpool expires next year, but he has remained focused on his performances, showcasing his prowess on the pitch throughout the season.

Will Mo leave the Reds?

Despite ongoing speculation about his future, Salah has been instrumental for Liverpool, tallying an impressive 19 goals and 10 assists in 28 appearances, contributing significantly to the team’s pursuit of a historic Quadruple. His absence in the recent Carabao Cup final against Chelsea due to a muscle issue highlighted his importance to the squad; with him, we could have settled the issue much earlier.

Salah’s journey this season has faced hurdles, including a hamstring injury sustained during the Africa Cup of Nations, limiting his playing time for Liverpool in 2024. Nonetheless, his impact on the pitch has been undeniable, aiding Liverpool’s ambitions across multiple competitions, including the Premier League, FA Cup, and Europa League.

Liverpool’s triumph in the Carabao Cup final marked the beginning of what could be a successful campaign across various fronts. However, the potential departure of both Salah and manager Jurgen Klopp this summer poses a significant challenge for the club. Losing two pivotal figures simultaneously would undoubtedly reshape Liverpool’s strategy and plans for the upcoming season.
