Liverpool youngster Bobby Clark outlines ‘never say die’ spirit in the squad

Courage and belief encourage magical moments, ones that last in the memories for a long time and Liverpool are chasing those moments with belief, courage, confidence and unity. The Reds from Merseyside won the League Cup in the dying minutes before a possible penalty kick clash, and if that wasn’t enough, they snatched three points right at the end of their next fixture.

Injuries have forced Liverpool to adapt and rely on their academy, which has showcased the resilience of the upcoming youngsters at Anfield as they navigate through challenging times.

Jurgen Klopp handed Bobby Clark his first start for the Liverpool first-team and it was a perfect end to a day he will remember forever. Darwin Nunez was Liverpool’s hero as the visitors netted a 99th minute winner at City Ground beating Nottingham Forest by 1-0. The three points at the weekend sparked a wild celebration in the away end though more importantly ensures the Reds from Merseyside maintain their place at the top of the Premier League table.

It was extra special for the 19-year-old who was lining up in tunnel for Jurgen Klopp & Co. for the first time. The 2005 born midfielder spoke was eventually replaced by Endo at the hour mark. He spoke following the conclusion of the game about the never say die spirit that the whole squad wears. It was that never give up mentality which kept Liverpool knocking on Matz Sels’ goal until the scored the winner in the last kick of the game.

“Oh, a great way for it to end! Obviously I was grateful to get my first Premier League start, said Clark speaking to Liverpool’s official website.

“When I came off, obviously things were out of my control. But I knew that something was coming and [to do that] late was top! It’s mad but I always had the feeling we were going to do something with the top players we’ve got in the front of the pitch, and Alexis [Mac Allister] with the calmness at the end and Darwin putting it in, it was top!”

The feeling of making something happen comes very critical for confidence in a close title race. These would be massive learnings for the 19-year-old who would be looking to build on his first start at Liverpool.
