Manchester United legend Roy Keane backs Arsenal to pip Liverpool to the Premier League title

We have an exciting Premier League title race in our hands with only one point separating the top three as Liverpool drop to second in the table following the draw against Manchester City at Anfield on Sunday. With little separating both clubs and Arsenal, we could be in for a grandstand finale this season.

The game yesterday presented to be all it was expected to be and more, with John Stones scoring with a near post finish from a corner taken quickly while Alexis Mac Allister equalized from a nick penalty kick from the spot after Ederson took out Darwin Nunez. The intensity and tacticals on display were among the best we have seen this season from both clubs.

The 1-1 draw complemented by Arsenal’s 2-1 win over Brentford at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday, means the North London side are now occupying the summit of the Premier League table on goal difference from Jürgen Klopp’s Liverpool, while Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City sits just a point behind. The stakes have never been higher with a margin for error so minimal.

Speaking before Liverpool’s game against Manchester City, Manchester United icon Roy Keane admitted that he doesn’t know which club he would rather be playing for at this point as this season’s Premier League title race looks like it will go down to the wire. One man who believes that will not come to pass is Roy Keane, the Manchester United skipper has this to say via live on Sky Sports.

“If you asked me what camp I’d be in, and I’m including Arsenal, I wouldn’t know which to choose to be honest,”

“Arsenal are doing really well, they look strong physically, they look different to last year but then you have Man City who have had Haaland out injured and De Bruyne coming back after months out so it’s a really hard one to call.”

Keane has little reason to back us and he is right in stating that Arsenal are a formidable outfit. But then, there is little reason for the Reds to take stock of his opinion. As long as Klopp’s charges do their job on the field, we should be fine.

More Liverpool News

One more huge fixture awaits as Arsenal visit Etihad Stadium to face City on March 31 which could prove important in deciding this season’s winners. Liverpool will be hoping that this one falls into their hands. As long as Arsenal drop points and the Reds keep winning, Jurgen Klopp’s men will have destiny in their own hands. We are witnessing a title race that could be talked about for years to come.
