Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Lukas Hradecky explained that no one would be “angry” if Xabi Alonso joined Liverpool after winning the Bundesliga

Lukas Hradecky assured that no one would begrudge Xabi Alonso if he joined Liverpool after winning the Bundesliga for Bayer Leverkusen. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has announced that he is stepping back from the managerial role after the current season.

Xabi is currently the firm favourite to succeed Klopp as the Reds manager, having a strong bond with the fanbase. The majority of the Kopites are already adamant that the former Liverpool player should be the only option as the manager.

Apart from a strong bond with the Kopites and playing history with the club, Alonso understands Liverpool’s culture and philosophy. Furthermore, his unbeaten season with Leverkusen highlights his managerial qualities, using shrewd tactical aptitude and mental resilience in each game.

Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Lukas Hradecky explained that no one would be “angry” if Xabi Alonso joined Liverpool after winning the Bundesliga.
Xabi Alonso remains a firm favourite to succeed Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool during the upcoming summer.

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich has shown interest in Alonso and has made distasteful attempts to disrupt Leverkusen’s Bundesliga title charge. The German giants have used the media in recent weeks to imply that Alonso will join them over Liverpool.

Bayern have a habit of poaching the best players and staff from other German clubs to maintain their monopoly. However, using high-level journalists and media to maintain such stories in the news cycle is an open ploy to distract Leverkusen. Xabi’s team are currently 10 points ahead of Bayern in the Bundesliga and achieve the incredible feat.

Speaking after playing for Finland in international duties (h/t Express), Hradecky said no one will have issues if Alonso leaves. He said:

“No-one would be angry or argue if he wins the Bundesliga and decides to go another route,”

As things stand, Xabi has three options during the summer after the season is over. He can either stay at Leverkusen, join Bayern who are the rivals or join Liverpool to succeed Klopp.

The Spaniard is a former Bayern player and the option to join the biggest club in Germany is tempting. The idea of jumping straight from Leverkusen to their rival after achieving the Bundesliga could leave a bitter taste in many. Alonso has a reputation as a gentleman and makes big decisions accordingly with patience.
