Blow for Liverpool as national team could extend managerial target’s contract

Liverpool will have to look elsewhere as German Football Federation hopes to renew Julian Nagelsmann’s deal

As per Mirror, Liverpool have been hit with a blow in their pursuit of Julian Nagelsmann as the next man to succeed Jurgen Klopp at Anfield. The German Football Federation is optimistic about extending Nagelsmann’s contract for another year at the helm.

The German football federation ought to reconsider about extending the contract of the former Bayern Munich manager, who replaced Hansi Flick as the country’s coach. He has done a tremendous job, and their most recent 2-0 victory against France has provided more justification.

The Reds have identified a number of managers to take charge of the club next season, and Nagelsmann is among the candidates to fill Klopp’s shoes in the upcoming campaign, but now Liverpool’s hopes of appointing him have been dashed by the German Football Federation.

The former RB Leipzig head coach penned down a year-long contract with the German national team in 2023, and so far, how he has turned things around has impressed the football federation, and DFB president Bernd Neuendorf wants to reward Nagelsmann with another contract.

In the meantime, the 36-year-old talked about his contract status with Germany and gave his word that he intended to stay for one more year. This definitely puts an end to any dreams that Nagelsmann will be one of the candidates to lead the Reds in the upcoming season.

Nagelsmann is an ideal manager to succeed Klopp!!

It appears that Liverpool will need to search elsewhere for their next head coach. And in order to decide who can be the perfect manager to keep the club at the top of the football and maintain them in contention for all trophies, they will need to exercise extreme caution and judgment before appointing a new manager.
