Liverpool midfielder Wataru Endo expressed his relief at the team’s immediate opportunity to win again.

Wataru Endo highlighted the importance of Liverpool playing quick fixtures to rectify their form with a win against Crystal Palace. Liverpool lost 0-3 against Atalanta in the first leg of the Europa League quarter-finals at Anfield after an abysmal display.

The Reds drew Manchester United 2-2 last week in the Premier League clash despite dominating the first half of the match. Man United lacked any conviction to bother Liverpool until a mistake from Jarell Quansah created an equaliser for the hosts.

Liverpool have enjoyed a fantastic season until mid-March despite the severe injury crisis and repeated poor officiating from the referees. However, the Reds have self-destructed since the Red Devils knocked them out of the FA Cup due to their complacency.

Liverpool star Wataru Endo hopes that his journey and achievement of a “simple dream” will inspire children in the future.
Liverpool star Wataru Endo hopes that the team could bounce back immediately from their recent poor performances.

Liverpool have shown complacency in both the offensive and defensive phases of the game in the past few games. They have wasted an ample number of opportunities to score goals and finish the opponent early, allowing them a chance.

Furthermore, during the counter-pressing in a specific area, the rest of the players have failed to organise themselves with urgency. Liverpool have not kept a clean sheet in their last eight games in all competitions which is a big issue.

Endo highlighted (h/t beIN Sports) the importance of bouncing back immediately during the crucial stage of the season. He said:

“It is always a tough opponent but we play at Anfield again, so we have to start strongly and offensively we have to make it better. Better than the last few games, yes. I am glad the game is coming this quickly because we have a chance to win again quickly so we just get ready and we want to win the game.”

Liverpool are currently third in the Premier League, two points behind Manchester City with a game in hand. With seven Premier League games remaining and Arsenal ahead in goal difference, they need to take every fixture seriously.

Endo has built a formidable partnership with Alexis Mac Allister but they need to rally their teammates and avoid complacency. Kopites are lenient towards new mistakes but a recurring mistake is unprofessional and unbecoming of a Liverpool player.
