Reliable journalist Ben Jacobs asserted that an offer from Saudi Arabia for Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah would be around £70 million. The Reds rejected an offer of around £150 million last summer to keep Salah for the current season.
The Egypt captain has continued his prolific form this season but his performances have drastically deteriorated in the recent games. Furthermore, the 31-year-old suffered a long spell on the sideline due to recurring injuries since January during the AFCON competition.
Salah has never faced so much time on the sideline during his tenure at the club, building more concern. As the highest-paid player in Liverpool’s history, he needs to maintain a standard but has failed.
Despite the poor form, Salah has 23 goals and 13 assists in all competitions from 37 appearances for Liverpool. The 31-year-old remains one of the most well-known and beloved figures at the club and worldwide.
Jacobs told GIVEMESPORT that any offer from Saudi Arabia would include add-ons alongside a price in the region of £70 million. He said:
“As you would expect, a year on, any offer is going to be lower than that £150million package. I’m told that the ballpark guaranteed fee will be similar to the one that was successfully paid to take Neymar from Paris Saint-Germain to Al-Hilal, so somewhere in the region of £70million with some add-ons on top.”
Salah’s recent performances have been very costly to Liverpool as they suffered a heavy loss in the two remaining competitions. The Reds suffered a costly draw and a loss in the last two Premier League fixtures, slipping to the third place.
Furthermore, they lost 3-0 at Anfield to Atalanta in the first leg of the Europa League quarter-finals last week. The second leg poses a daunting task for the team that is completely out of form and lacking ideas.

As Liverpool conceded casual early goals, the opposition have made themselves compact to focus on counter-attacks. The Egyptian has only helped the opponents by being too narrow, leaving the right flank completely useless for any productivity.
