Trent Alexander-Arnold says he still expects Liverpool to be challenging whoever replaces Jurgen Klopp this summer
Trent Alexander-Arnold remains optimistic about Liverpool FC’s prospects of challenging for the Premier League title next season, regardless of who steps in to replace Jurgen Klopp at Anfield.
The Liverpool vice-captain expressed his confidence in the team’s collective mentality and eagerness to succeed, emphasising that the internal drive to win and compete for trophies remains unchanged.
TAA acknowledged Klopp‘s contributions and the impact he has had on the club since his arrival in October 2015. However, the focus now shifts to the future, and Trent believes that Liverpool’s ambition and determination will remain steadfast under new leadership as he spoke to Gary Neville on Sky Bet’s The Overlap. (h/t Liverpool Echo).
“But as players, the mentality and eagerness to win – not the pressure, but the internal pressure on ourselves and the demands to win things and be in a title race next season no matter who the manager is – that’s what we expect from ourselves.”
While the managerial speculation continues to swirl, the England international stressed the importance of maintaining a winning mentality within the squad, irrespective of the managerial change.
Trent’s comments reflect the resilient spirit within the Liverpool squad and their unwavering commitment to achieving success. As the club navigates through this period of transition, the players are determined to uphold the standards set by Klopp and continue to challenge for top honours.
Liverpool will be keen to ensure a seamless transition as they search for a new manager to lead the team forward. The focus will be on finding a candidate who can build upon Klopp’s legacy, instil confidence in the players, and drive the team towards further glory in the Premier League and other competitions.
But before all of that, we have to ensure the best possible finish to the current campaign.
