Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp talks about how much belief he still has in winning the league

The recent string of results in the league for Liverpool Football Club has pushed them back in their pursuit of PL glory this season. A draw against Manchester United followed by a loss to Crystal Palace at home is surely not good news for Jurgen Klopp.

The German tactician still believes that the league situation is fluid and Liverpool can have a crack at it with six more games to go. Here is what Klopp told the club’s official website on how much belief he still has in winning the league:

“That’s obviously not in our hands, it’s not about that. I think if we would win all our games, yeah, there’s a good chance that we will be champion. If not, yeah, then it’s a good chance that somebody is there. Maybe we only have to win five or whatever, but nobody knows.”

The 1-0 loss to Crystal Palace followed by a narrow 1-0 win against Atalanta in the UEFA Europa League has certainly tested the resolve of the team and the fans. The disappointment of seeing the club knocked out of Europe and the missed opportunities in the league have added to the pressure.

Is it in our hands, or not?

With six crucial league games left, the challenge is clear: Liverpool may need to win every single one to secure a memorable sendoff for Klopp. The stakes are high, especially with Manchester City leading the league with 73 points, followed closely by Arsenal and Liverpool, both on 71 points. Arsenal’s superior goal difference currently places them in second, pushing Liverpool into third.

Each remaining fixture is akin to a cup final, demanding maximum effort, concentration, and determination. It’s a time for the squad to showcase their resilience, character, and fighting spirit as they strive to overcome the odds.

The collective belief, both within the squad and among the fans, will be pivotal in navigating through these crucial matches. The passion, unity, and unwavering support that define Liverpool Football Club must shine brightly in these defining moments of the season even though that has not been the case in the last few weeks.

Who thought it would be a good idea to stage a protest against rising ticket prices during a crucial European fixture? Half the atmosphere at Anfield was dead right there. There was absolutely no need for all of that during a crucial run-in and we only have to back our boys. The players, on the other hand, have to show intent which was missing in Bergamo.
