Liverpool are ready to battle their Premier League title rivals Arsenal and Manchester City to sign Wolves defender Rayan Ait-Nouri
During the upcoming summer transfer window, Wolves left wing-back Rayan Ait-Nouri is attracting interest from Arsenal, Manchester City, and Liverpool for a potential signing. The 22-year-old has featured regularly for Wolves this season and attracted attention from several top clubs by showcasing his qualities.
Ait-Nouri’s 1.80 meters stature showcases the physical strength and balance needed to thrive in the Premier League. Playing for Wolves, Ait-Nouri has to fulfil the defensive duty more often than participating in attack which is his preference.
The 22-year-old has the stamina, understanding of the tactical requirement and pace to cover the left flank where he plays. He has the versatility to play as a left-back, left wing-back, left winger and also more centrally in attack.
The Algeria international has the dribbling skills and close control that helps him go past defenders and produce threatening crosses. Ait-Nouri has the technical quality and creative vision to spot the right passes and crosses, finding his attacking teammates.
The 22-year-old uses intelligent movement and unpredictability to go narrow or down the byline to support the attackers. Ait-Nouri has made 33 appearances in all competitions for Wolves this season, contributing with three goals and two assists.
The Mirror reported that Ait-Nouri is a transfer target for Liverpool, Man City and Arsenal to bolster their defensive unit. Wolves value him at around £50 million and given his quality and age, the price is a bargain in this inflated market.
Liverpool have Kostas Tsimikas and Andy Robertson as their first-choice left-back but both players have struggled with injuries and inconsistencies. During January, the Reds deployed Joe Gomez when their specialist left-back faced the sideline due to their injuries.
