On-loan Liverpool star Owen Beck makes PFA Scottish TOTY 2023-24

It’s absolutely brilliant to see Liverpool sensation Owen Beck getting the recognition he deserves with his inclusion in the PFA Scotland Premiership Team of the Year for the 2023-24 season. As a young left-back, spending the majority of his time on loan at Dundee, he’s really made a mark on the pitch.

You can tell that his fellow players have been impressed by him; after all, they’re the ones who voted for this award. It’s a testament to his skill and the impact Beck has had at Dundee this season.

His brief return to Liverpool in January was a glimpse of what he can do on the Premier League stage. Making his third senior appearance against AFC Bournemouth showed that he’s not just making up the numbers; he’s genuinely pushing for a spot in the first team. He has three appearances for the first team so far.

Go on, Owen!

Watching Beck play, one can’t help but see echoes of Andy Robertson in his style. He possesses that attacking verve, delivering crosses with precision and supporting the forward line. It’s reminiscent of a young Robertson, which is incredibly promising for Liverpool supporters.

Defensively, Beck has made significant strides. He’s surely not afraid to engage in physical duels, displaying strong tackling and unwavering commitment. His aggressive and determined approach is precisely the kind of attitude you want to see in a defender.

From an observational standpoint, Beck’s development certainly stands as a testament to Liverpool’s youth academy. Witnessing a young talent like him emerge and seize his opportunities is truly uplifting. With his versatility and drive, he stands poised to become a valuable asset for Liverpool.

Liverpool have a lot of upcoming talents, at the fore of which, stands Owen Beck.

Looking forward, Beck has the potential to challenge established left-backs Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas for a regular spot in the lineup. It will be intriguing to observe his growth and whether he can transition into a consistent first-team player at Liverpool, hopefully half as successful as his uncle, Ian James Rush MBE.
