Ruben Amorim unlikely to move to Liverpool

West Ham United eye an ambitious move for Sporting CP manager Ruben Amorim. The links with the Portuguese tactician come due to uncertainties over the David Moyes’ stay at the East London club. Liverpool, also see themselves extensively linked with a move for Amorim. Although it looks unlikely he will prove the preferred candidate in their process to replace outgoing boss Jurgen Klopp.

These are the words of David Ornstein via The Athletic [subscription required]. What does that mean for the Reds? Is Amorim, not the preferred candidate to replace Klopp as per FSG CEO of Football Michael Edwards and incoming Sporting Director Richard Hughes?

We all knew it would be a tough ride to find a suitable replacement for Jurgen. But little did we know, two of our most preferred candidates, Xabi Alonso, who is certain not to join the Reds and now Amorim, will both potentially not take over from the German. Jose Mourinho’s presence at Liverpool’s recent match against Fulham adds another layer of intrigue, fueling speculation about his potential interest in the job. So funny that he chose to watch a random league game over his former team, Manchester United play the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley.

Who to take over from Klopp? Carol and Caroline?

Edwards has a track record of making bold decisions in the best interests of the club, and fans will be hoping that trend continues in this pivotal moment.

While the managerial search unfolds, Liverpool’s primary focus remains on the pitch. With only a handful of league games remaining, the Reds are in the thick of a thrilling title race. Every match is a must-win, and the players must remain focused amidst the off-field distractions.

The uncertainty surrounding the managerial situation adds an extra layer of complexity to Liverpool’s title challenge. The players, however, are no strangers to pressure and will be determined to give Klopp a memorable farewell by clinching the Premier League title.
