Feyenoord manager Arne Slot does not speak when promoted about Liverpool links
Even though the Sky Sports journalist almost went into the club building following Arne Slot, the Feyenoord manager remained as diplomatic as expected and did not speak a lot when quizzed about his recent links with Liverpool.
The 45-year-old Dutchman has been a top-class boss for Feyenoord who won their only second league title in 20 years with Slot at the helm. This season as well, they are running second to PSV Eindhoven, who are having a world-class season in the Eredivisie.
Following the links with Sporting CP boss Ruben Amorim dying down to a massive extent, Slot saw his name to replace Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool gain traction. However, even with the fact that he’s been in the news, he remains committed to his club and did not say anything about his links with the Reds. Here is the video via Sky Sports.
Slot to the Reds?
Interestingly, Slot’s playing career as a midfielder came to an end in 2013 at PEC Zwolle, the same club where Liverpool centre-back Sepp van den Berg was signed in 2019.
Slot’s managerial credentials are evident in his impressive record at Feyenoord, boasting a points-per-match ratio of 2.13 from 144 games in charge. His tactical acumen and ability to get the best out of his players have not gone unnoticed, making him a sought-after figure in the managerial market. He was also the first choice at Tottenham before they got Ange Postecoglou.
Despite the increasing speculation linking him with a move to Liverpool, Slot has maintained his focus on Feyenoord and his commitment to the club. His professionalism in handling the situation speaks volumes about his character and managerial maturity.
With Liverpool in search of a new manager to replace Jurgen Klopp, the managerial merry-go-round continues to gather pace. While Slot’s name has emerged as a potential candidate, the club’s hierarchy, led by FSG CEO of Football Michael Edwards and Liverpool Sporting Director Richard Hughes, will undoubtedly be assessing all options carefully.

For now, Slot remains focused on Feyenoord and their ongoing campaign in the Eredivisie. Whether or not he will be the man to take the reins at Liverpool remains to be seen, but his credentials certainly make him a compelling candidate for the role.
