Liverpool and Bayern Munich are in the running to sign Manu Kone. His contract with Gladbach runs through June 30, 2026, but it doesn’t appear to be sufficient to keep him from leaving the team.
The winter transfer window could be a good opportunity for the Gladbach midfielder to exit the club. According to Spanish publication Fichjaes, Kone’s club could bid him for around €40–45 million.
Liverpool has implemented a whole new hiring process in advance of the summer transfer window. After the departure
of the beloved Jurgen Klopp, Arne Slot is ready to take over as head coach rather than manager, with the backroom staff leading the charge in discovering potential.Thomas Tuchel personally recommended Bayern, and the Bavarian squad is eager to match Liverpool’s long-term desire in this trade. This demonstrates the Bundesliga champion’s commitment to bolstering his team even further.
One of the biggest names of the previous summer was Manu Kone. Links cooled out as the transfer market went on but he appeared to be a strong favourite to end up in the Liverpool squad again.
Amid a lot of new changes to the club, the Anfield team has been aggressively seeking to bolster its roster, with a particular focus on the midfield area.
It would be a little illogical to go after Kone at this time. Although it’s difficult to see how the Frenchman might fit into Slot’s plans, the acquisition made a bit more sense last summer when Liverpool was doing a comprehensive midfield makeover.
Given that Alexis Mac Allister has spent a lot of time playing defensive midfield for Liverpool this season, Slot will need to choose if he wants a specialist in that position. Wataru Endo is not a sustainable remedy. Kone, on the other hand, is a more adaptable player who can play wherever on the field, even as number six.
It might be beneficial for Liverpool to sign the Gladbach midfielder, adding a little different approach to their midfield. It will be interesting to see whether Slot and his staff would be interested in paying the mentioned amount to seal Kone’s services.
