Thiago Alcántara: From Anfield to Serie A?

Liverpool FC midfielder Thiago Alcántara has been linked with a move away from the Merseyside Reds as his contract at Anfield Stadium comes to an end as we call the curtains on the ongoing season.

There were high expectations when the midfielder moved to England following his impressive displays at Barcelona and Bayern Munich, and it is fair to comprehend that injuries took away all the momentum from his game and proved to be the stumbling block in finding his feet in English football.

The Spaniard’s game time this season has been limited to 5 minutes spanning over 1 appearance in the Premier League owing to a muscle injury that have kept him serving the sidelines in Jurgen Klopp’s final campaign in England.

Thiago’s Next Move: Juventus or Inter Milan?

While Liverpool look to move on from the German manager, Thiago is looking to move on from his damping time at the club, as Italian giants Juventus and Inter Milan have emerged as possible contenders in the race for his services, per Fichajes.

Thiago turned thirty-three this month; any following move could prove to be his final bow in professional football, at least playing for the elites. Having a lot of experience in Spain, Germany, and England, he could be looking to make his mark in Italian football as two Scudetto contending sides take notice of his availability.

However, with Saudi Arabia’s Pro League investing immeasurable money in acquiring top assets, it wouldn’t come as a surprise if Thiago moves to the Middle East this summer.

This surely looks like the end of his four-year stay in Liverpool, where he lifted a FA Cup and a Carabao Cup. We at The Kop Times would like to wish him the best and would be rooting for his success in Italy, Saudi Arabia, or beyond, wherever he feels his next step lies.
