Bayern Munich and the two clubs remain interested in signing Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk next summer

Three clubs including Bayern Munich are monitoring the contract situation surrounding Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk as the summer approaches. Liverpool are going through a transition after Jurgen Klopp announced his departure after the current season alongside several staff members.

Klopp’s announcement proceeded with rumours about numerous experienced players with a year left on their contract after this season. Many senior players have achieved everything under the departing manager as they near the end of their peak years.

However, the recent poor performance allowed his critics an opportunity to question his longevity at the top-most level. The 32-year-old turns 33 in July and his age will play a big factor if he receives a new contract. Van Dijk
