Liverpool ready to go to war with PSG for African ace who can make a difference in the final third

Liverpool are ready to battle Paris Saint-Germain to sign Napoli forward Victor Osimhen and fix their goalscoring problem

Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool want Napoli forward Victor Osimhen during the upcoming summer transfer window to bolster their attacking ranks. The Reds’ attacking department has wasted too many chances this season which eventually carried heavy consequences in the recent weeks.

Liverpool have experienced a massive drop in form, suffering elimination from the FA Cup and the Europa League since mid-March. They have also failed in their Premier League title chase, drawing twice and losing twice in the last five games.

Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah faced the brunt of the criticism, some constructive and correct while some overblown. Nevertheless, the poor composure and wastefulness have hurt the team badly and caused a massive drop in morale and conviction.

Liverpool are facing a massive transition as their beloved manager Jurgen Klopp departs alongside several staff members during the summer. The incoming head coach Arne Slot has decisions to make alongside the top hierarchy involving Michael Edwards and Richard Hughes.

While many parts of the squad need addressing, a prolific goal scorer is becoming the biggest necessity for the club. Italian publication Corriere dello Sport reported that Liverpool are ready to challenge PSG for Osimhen during the summer transfer window.

Osimhen is a proven goal scorer and provides more than just productivity in front of the goal. The Nigeria international played a pivotal role for Napoli last season in their Serie A triumph after 31 years.

Napoli have struggled to repeat their last season’s dominant form and they are currently ninth in the Serie A. Nevertheless, the 25-year-old has continued to contribute in front of goals amid the Italian team’s poor form.

Osimhen has scored 16 goals and provided four assists in all competitions from 29 appearances for Napoli this season. The Nigerian contributes immensely in the attacking phases of the game and works tirelessly for his team.

However, Liverpool needs to break the bank to secure Osimhen
