Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp could make a sensational return to Borussia Dortmund
A proper fairytale that. Outgoing Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp could make his way back to Borussia Dortmund. The 56-year-old German tactician spent seven successful years at the Bundesliga club, winning two league titles against giants Bayern Munich, and also took them to a UCL final where Bayern beat his Dortmund side.
According to The Independent, Dortmund plan to bring Jurgen Klopp back to Signal Iduna Park in 2025 as the “head of football”. There’s increasing talks of the same in NRW. Dortmund have reintroduced several pivotal figures from the successful Klopp era, a move that some believe has hindered the club’s progress. Despite seeing himself offered the manager’s position again in May 2018, Klopp declined to return.
A move that paid off HUGE DIVIDENDS. Since May 2018, Klopp started making his mark on the Liverpool trophy cabinet. One Champions League, one Premier League title, one FIFA Club World Cup, one UEFA Super Cup, 1 FA Cup, one FA Community Shield and two Carabao Cups. For the rival fan, this might seem too little. However, there’s only one manager who has managed to win as much as, in fact, more than Klopp in the Premier League during his time there.
Jurgen said to me y’no!
Comparisons with other top managers are inevitable. Pep Guardiola, Jose Mourinho, you name them, they’ve all had their moments in the spotlight. But for anybody’s money, Klopp’s achievements in the Premier League speak volumes. He’s not just a manager; he’s a bloody genius, a footballing maestro who’s left an indelible mark on the game.
Coming back to Dortmund. Let’s not forget the emotional aspect of Klopp’s potential return. Cast your mind back to when he bid farewell to Dortmund in 2015. The tears, the heartfelt farewells, the palpable sense of gratitude and nostalgia that permeated every corner of Signal Iduna Park. It was a moment etched in football history, a testament to Klopp’s profound impact on the club and its supporters.
Wow. Deep it down, that’s a sight even Liverpool fans have to watch at the end of the 90 in the Wolves game. Getting all nervy only thinking about what might happen with our beloved club once this godsend truly bids farewell to the hallowed turf of Anfield.
