Ben Jacobs sheds light now on why a 2025 exit might not be happening with Liverpool forward, Mo Salah.

There has been a lot of talk surrounding the future of Liverpool superstar, Mo Salah. The 31-year-old forward has been the team’s best and most important player for the past few years. However, talk suggests his time might be coming to an end.

Following the departure of Jurgen Klopp this summer, the Reds are expected to undergo a ton of changes. There will also be changes being made to the team and the stars who flourished under the German manager, might or might not be a part of the future.

The team will try and raise money through sales and Salah fits the fill. He may be 31 but his ability is still unmatched the player could fetch a huge price. Here’s what Ben Jacobs had to say about Salah’s situation. (h/t The Daily Briefing)

“There’s no denying that Salah’s a top Saudi target. But even dating back to last summer, when Al Ittihad had £150 million total package offer was turned down by Mike Gordon and very amicably, dealmakers never guaranteed that they would move this summer.”

“2025 is a good time for Saudi to get Mo Salah because it coincides with the rights renewal, at which point they can leverage potentially Salah’s arrival to get more money”

While Jacobs says 2025 would be a good time for Salah to leave, there is no guarantee that the Saudi people will still be sending offers next year. So the possibility of Mo sticking around at Anfield past 2025 is also very real at this stage.

The 31-year-old is still capable of playing and competing at the very highest level. So, it wouldn’t exactly be celebrated if he took a move to Saudi where his career would potentially move on to its latter stages. Whatever becomes of him Salah will surely be celebrated by the fans for a long time.
