Sports journalist Ben Jacobs believes “very loyal” Leeds United forward Crysencio Summerville would find it hard to turn down Liverpool

Ben Jacobs praised Leeds United forward Crysencio Summerville for his professionalism and loyalty but acknowledged that Liverpool could sign him. Summerville has played a pivotal role for the Whites this season in the EFL Championship, enjoying a highly productive campaign.

With the Premier League promotion on the line, Leeds will play Norwich City during the first leg of the play-offs semi-final. Leeds finished third in the Championship after suffering a drop in form, losing three out of the last five games.

Summerville remains focused on the task at hand with Leeds to earn a potential promotion to the Premier League. However, many top clubs have continued to monitor the Dutchman’s impressive campaign to sign him this summer.

The 22-year-old’s versatility plays a key role as he is capable of playing at any position behind the main forward. He prefers to play at the left side of the wing from where he can cut inside to take shots.

Summerville has incredible pace, ability and dribbling skills that make him unpredictable for the opponents, particularly in the final third. He has the technique and creativity to both shoot or make a critical pass to his teammate for an assist.

The 22-year-old is hardworking and contributes a lot in the overall play for Leeds while constantly being a direct threat. The directness also allows him to be a big threat in counter-attacking situations and phases when spaces are open.

Jacobs told GIVEMESPORTS that Summerville has shown professionalism and loyalty to Leeds but Liverpool’s attraction could change his mind. He said:

“Summerville all season has been focused on Leeds, very professional and very loyal to the club. Naturally, when a club like Liverpool or any other club of that nature make an offer, it can be very hard for players to turn it down. They’re joining a club with Champions League football, much bigger wages, and no risk of dropping out of the division a season later. So you can understand why Leeds may face a battle to keep Summerville. But we should stress that Summerville has always been very loyal and committed to Leeds. He’s not been one of the players, for example in the January window, to start asking for anything or pushing for an exit.”

Liverpool’s attacking department has struggled with composure in front of goal, wasting too many chances that proved costly this season. The Reds are also lacking counter-attacking threats as legendary forward Mohamed Salah dropped a bit of pace with age.
