Liverpool are expected to move for Brest star this summer
As reported by Football Insider, Liverpool are interested in signing Brest full-back Bradley Locko. The 22-year-old has been stellar for the Ligue 1 side this season and has started all 32 of his team’s league games while also recording three assists.
Now the Reds are looking to refresh their full-back spot since there have been a few concerns regarding their LB spot this season. First choice Andrew Robertson is only getting older and has struggled to stay fit missing a total of 21 games this season alone.
Clearly, Liverpool can’t rely on the 30-year-old to be healthy for an entire season at this stage of his career. That leaves Konstantinos Tsimikas but there has been a lot of talk suggesting the 27-year-old could leave the grounds of Anfield this summer.
So, the time is right to spring on a new left-back and Locko seems to be a promising option. Aston Villa and West Ham United are also interested in signing the 22-year-old and they consider Locko to be a player with huge potential.
He has been crucial to Brest’s campaign this season and the team might not have been fighting for a Champions League spot if it wasn’t for him. However, Locko is under contract until 2027 which could spoil Liverpool’s plans to sign him.
His contract has three years on it and he has been showing positive signs of a bright future. So, Brest will most likely not be letting go of the 22-year-old for cheap and since the Reds aren’t in the habit of throwing money around a deal might not materialize.
