Barcelona throw in the towel as Liverpool star is ‘happy’ at Anfield

Barcelona move on from Liverpool star Luis Diaz as the player makes “happy” claim

In a very affirming piece of news, Liverpool star Luis Diaz claims he’s very happy on Merseyside amid links with an exit from the club. Our April Player of the Month blew hot and cold after returning from his knee injury last season. But the last few weeks have been very good from Lucho‘s perspective and it is good to see him speak about his future at the club.

Here is what Lucho told the club’s official website after winning April’s POTM award:

“From the beginning of my career to today, I feel that with the passage of days, of years, living each experience in each different team, coming to this great club that is Liverpool, leaves you with a lot of learnings.”

“You learn more and more to be a professional, to be a better person, to be a good team-mate and a good guy. The truth is that I am very happy to be here. Great years are coming for the club, I have no doubt about that.”

“Personally, I will always try to do my best, always try to give 100%, to always stand out on the field, which is what I came [here] to do. I’m always grateful to God for every opportunity.”

In 49 appearances across all competitions this season, he has 13 goals and five assists to boot. We all know he has been great on the wing despite the numbers not reflecting that. A shake-up in tactics under incoming Head Coach Arne Slot might see Diaz switch the volume of goals up, hopefully. Fingers crossed.

Barcelona move on from Liverpool star Luis Diaz as the player makes “happy” claim.

Elsewhere, according to Spanish news outlet Sport, Barcelona have moved on from the idea of getting Diaz from the Reds. They rightly believe he will cost them a bomb and they can’t afford his services. The Colombian international, despite his topsy-turvy form, remains a key player for the Reds.

While it is true that he might fetch a big fat cheque for Liverpool, the Reds always have a sense of belief in all the players. With his silky almost Neymar-esque dribbling on the wings and ability to link up play fairly well, he can push himself to greater heights at Liverpool. As earlier mentioned, the impending arrival of Slot will surely have Lucho slot in on the wings.

Right now, Diaz is his weight in gold for Liverpool. Slot plays a very attacking brand of football and everyone in his frontline scores goals and plenty. We can only hope for all our attackers, including Diaz himself, to get their scoring boots on and make sure they are much more clinical than they are throughout this season.

More Liverpool News!

So here’s to Luis Diaz, the smiling assassin from Colombia, lighting up Anfield with his flair and finesse. As he prepares to embark on the next chapter of his journey, one thing is clear. As he says it himself, the best is yet to come. And with Diaz leading the charge, Liverpool’s future looks brighter than ever.
