Arne Slot’s Liverpool announcement held up for this one reason

Incoming Liverpool Head Coach Arne Slot confirms imminent official announcement

Arne Slot is evidently edging closer to securing the managerial position at Liverpool, marking an exciting chapter for both the club and the Dutchman. Engaging discussions between Slot and Michael Edwards, CEO of Football at FSG.

However, amidst this optimism, a tiny complication arises – Slot’s ambition to bring his trusted associates from Feyenoord to Liverpool presents a small challenge.

Slot’s desire to have his loyal team, including assistant Sibke Hulshoff, second assistant Etienne Reijnen, and head of performance Ruben Peeters, alongside him at Liverpool is understandable. These individuals have played pivotal roles in Slot’s coaching setup at Feyenoord and are integral to his managerial approach. Nevertheless, logistical hurdles emerge, particularly concerning Hulshoff’s commitments to the Dutch national team at Euro 2024, where he serves as an assistant under Ronald Koeman.

That is as per The Mirror. Liverpool want Hulshoff to begin his contract with Liverpool starting the 1st of July, before Euro 2024 ends which is causing a bit of hindrance. Here is what Slot had to say about the official announcement:

“I can’t reveal the details right now, but it is not about my contract. There are a combination of factors which is the cause why there is no announcement yet. But don’t worry. It will happen. I know I have been saying this every time over the past week, but I do expect that it really is a matter of days now. Some things just need more time.”

While there’s a buzz about Slot’s potential appointment and the chance of his Feyenoord mates joining him, it’s all about playing the waiting game. Sorting out the finer details takes time and patience, but they’ll get there in the end.

As Slot gears up for his stint at Liverpool, folks in the footy world are on tenterhooks. His arrival marks the start of a new era for the Reds, and everyone’s hoping he’ll bring his A-game. Stepping into Jurgen Klopp’s shoes is surely not an easy task. Let’s see how Slot fares. We can only hope for him to Slot in easy at the Reds.
