Real Madrid are monitoring Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister intending to sign him in next year’s summer transfer window
Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister is on the transfer list of Real Madrid, intending to sign him next year. Mac Allister has enjoyed a fantastic season with Liverpool, displaying his versatility within the midfield as he played different roles.
The Argentine played as a number-six and a number-eight throughout the current season for the Reds, maintaining high consistency. He started the season as the number-six to allow Wataru Endo to adapt to the speed of the Premier League.
The 25-year-old showed his immense quality and influence in the game’s defensive and offensive phases for Liverpool. He played alongside many different midfield partners and still managed to gel easily with his new teammates.
Mac Allister has made 45 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions this season, contributing with six goals and seven assists. The Argentine joined Liverpool from Brighton & Hove Albion last summer after enjoying an incredible season.
Italian journalist Rudy Galetti (via Liverpool Echo) claims that Real are monitoring Mac Allister as a potential next year’s signing. The Spanish giant have a stacked midfield despite Luka Modric and Toni Kross nearing the retirement age.
Mac Allister has established himself as a first-team regular, and his stock will grow if he continues to perform consistently. The Reds themselves need recruitment in the defensive midfield position to allow the Argentine to play more adventurously.
A new era is beginning at Liverpool next season with Arne Slot succeeding Jurgen Klopp as the new head coach. If the Dutchman deploys the formation he used at his previous clubs, Liverpool will play a 4-2-3-1 formation.

Mac Allister can showcase his skills and continue to build his reputation by playing in the double pivot of midfield and the number 10 role. Liverpool have not lost a player they don’t want to lose since Phillip Coutinho joined Barcelona which started the successful era under Klopp. If Real somehow manages to turn Mac Allister’s head, which is speculative in itself, they would need to cough up an astronomical price.
