Klopp believes Liverpool can again surpass Manchester City next season, like they did before

The beloved Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp, delivered one last speech to his squad in the dressing room after their win against Wolves. He wants his squad to believe that they can again surpass Manchester City to grab the Premier League title next season as they did in the 2019–20 season.

Jurgen Klopp is ending his nine-year reign at Anfield, stepping down from the managerial position this summer. The upcoming coach, Arne Slot, is going to replace the German.

During his time at Liverpool, the German boss has led Liverpool to quite a handful of silverware, including the Premier League title in the 2019–20 season, which ended the Reds’ 30-year-long wait for the cup.

In a video posted on social media by the club, Klopp shared his affection for the players while giving his final dressing room speech. Klopp did not know the League winners this season until someone said “City”, he then said:

“The only ones who stopped them was us (in 2019-20), and you can do that again. There might be some people who say [third place] is not enough – I tell you, they don’t have a clue about football.”

Klopp insists that the Liverpool squad stays positive and make a strong comeback next season to turn back the clock and grab the Premier League title again like they did in the 2019-20 season, surpassing Manchester City.

The boss tells his squad to be positive

Liverpool ended the season in third place in the Premier League standings, nine points behind the first-place holders Manchester City. But this setback does not break Klopp as he remains positive that his squad can stop City again in the next season.

Liverpool is about to go through a lot of changes in the upcoming season with the arrival of the new boss Arne Slot and several changes in the squad as well as the managerial staff.
