€60 million is all it could take for the Reds to sign star attacker this summer
As reported by Italian outlet Tutto Juve, Liverpool could land Federico Chiesa by putting in a €60 million bid this summer. Juventus have no intention of letting their star attacker go. The 26-year-old has made 36 appearances this season recording nine goals and three assists for the team.
Chiesa was also instrumental to the team’s victory in the Italy Cup and has been a key part of the lineup for the entirety of the 2023/24 season. What’s concerning for the European giants is that Chiesa only has one more year remaining on his deal at Juventus.
So, if they don’t move him this summer, Chiesa could end up leaving the team on a free transfer next year. The Italian striker is a very versatile player and can pretty much play any position in the final third, making him a very interesting choice for Liverpool.
The team has a lot of quality up front with the likes of Mo Salah, Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez, Cody Gakpo, and Diogo Jota. However, once injuries struck last season all that depth and quality couldn’t bail the Reds out when it mattered most.
So, adding a piece like Federico Chiesa to the board will go a long way toward giving the team someone they can fall back on in a pinch. But, the Italian might not be open to a move if the Reds can’t guarantee him a starting spot.
Since Chiesa is used to being a first-choice at Juventus, there’s no telling how he would react to being given a role on the bench. However, the ball is in Liverpool’s court and an offer north of €60m could be all they need.
