Liverpool have their eyes on the Brazilian star who is getting comparisons with Gabriel Jesus
According to recent reports, a few weeks ago, Liverpool talked with individuals close to Matheus Reis, as they believe the Brazilian star has a lot of future potential. Liverpool, along with Newcastle, considers Reis as a potential addition to their squad.
In the football community, the encounter has created a great deal of enthusiasm, highlighting the young Mexican-Brazilian’s rising importance in the football world. This led to the rising interest of a couple of huge clubs in the young star.
According to previous reports, a deal would be a costly one for Liverpool because the teenager’s contract at Fluminense includes a release clause of €50 million (£43 million).
Reis could be next Gabriel Jesus
The Brazilian youngster wouldn’t be the type of player Liverpool has a history of bringing in; in fact, the Reds are less likely than some of their Premier League competitors to search South America for young players with a lot of promise.
However, it has proved a successful method in the past for a couple of clubs. Gabriel Jesus was also brought in by Manchester City in his young days of career and the decision turned out to be perfect for City as the Brazilian star heavily contributed to the club’s victories.
Given the similarities between Jesus and Reis, the latter has earned himself comparisons with the current Arsenal number 9 and another Brazilian sensation. This should be considered an achievement in its own at just the start of his career.
Given the evident potential in the rising star, the hefty transfer clause does not seem to scare the English club as it could most likely be a worthy investment for them.
