Liverpool face Barcelona sized problem in signing 26-year-old €60m release clause

Liverpool faces Barcelona, Manchester United and Bayern Munich in a transfer battle to sign highly-coveted RB Leipzig forward Dani Olmo

RB Leipzig forward Dani Olmo is a transfer target for Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Manchester United and Barcelona during the summer. The 26-year-old missed numerous games due to multiple injuries this season but maintained his first-team status whenever he regained fitness.

Olmo suffered a knee injury and an acromioclavicular joint dislocation during this season that hindered his consistency in producing output. The Spaniard has the versatility to play at any attacking position behind the lead striker, capably operating in the flanks.

The Spaniard is unpredictable in dribbling, capable of going either way and attacking the opponent with direct running in duels. Olmo is a clinical finisher of the ball, completely composed in high-pressure situations while having the technique and shooting accuracy.

Liverpool and many top European clubs want RB Leipzig winger Dani Olmo.

The 26-year-old relies a lot on linkup play as well, making it hard for the opposition defence to predict him. The close control and ability to shield the ball and move his body help him earn many free kicks through fouls.

Olmo is currently in the prime years of his career and possesses maturity and good decision-making, staying consistent. The 26-year-old has made 25 appearances in all competitions for Leipzig this season, contributing with eight goals and five assists.

Fichajes reported that Barcelona, Man United, Bayern and Liverpool are planning to sign Olmo from Leipzig during the summer window. Fabrizio Romano used his X account to confirm that the 26-year-old has a 60 million euro release clause this summer.

Liverpool have a fluid attacking department but they struggled with goals at the crucial stage of the last season. The Reds’ attackers faced criticism for being too wasteful in front of the goal, a serious concern going forward.

New head coach Arne Slot has shown a preference for signing younger players from his previous club who he can coach according to his tactics. Speculating about Olmo‘s fit in Slot’s tactics and his minor injury concerns is common.
