Exciting news for Liverpool as per their old interest in the Chelsea star, who is most likely leaving
Chelsea could see their two stars leaving the club this summer making a fortunate scenario for Liverpool. The Blues once again made it to the headlines after the sudden sacking of their manager Mauricio Pochettino which could leave some of their players’ future at the club in danger.
Chelsea had a strong finish to the season, winning its last five league games and placing sixth in the standings to earn a trip to Europe. Even with the respectable performance, the manager left the team just one year into his job.
With Pochettino leaving Stamford Bridge, a number of players may now exit from Chelsea. Two of those players are most likely to be, Conor Gallagher and Trevoh Chalobah. This might get Liverpool back in the game to reignite their long-lost interest to sign Gallagher.
According to the Evening Standard, Pochettino was willing to put up a battle to keep both players with the team this summer. Pochettino’s departure means Chelsea will need to sell in order to balance the books, and both players might depart to raise some much-needed cash.
However with Klopp now departing and new manager, Arne Slot now joining the Reds, it is hard to say if they will once again start their interest in the 24-year-old.
He still might be a valuable asset for the Reds. He made impactful 37 appearances for the Blues in this season of Premier League. The star midfielder was Pochettino’s favourite during the manager’s time at the Blues.
Chelsea is desperately in need of offloading some of his key players to come clean according to the PSR regulations. Gallagher being a Chelsea’s youth academy player, will bring pure profit to the club.
