Liverpool have made a move for Bundesliga winger
As reported by Liverpool.com, Liverpool have made a move for Bundesliga winger Dani Olmo. The 26-year-old has made 25 appearances this season recording eight goals and five assists.
Olmo has a £51m release clause in his contract. But the Reds only have till July 15 to activate it or else it will expire. This puts RB Leipzig in a strong position to negotiate.
However, Liverpool would have to consider whether Olmo is worth the price. The team would be paying a price similar to what they did for Dominik Szoboszlai.
The Reds paid £60m for the 23-year-old last summer and he’s been a solid addition to the squad although he’s had a few hiccups during his early days.
Olmo on the other hand is a severe injury risk, just this past season he has missed 20 games. There’s no guarantee he’ll be able to keep up with the increased intensity of the Premier League.
The Reds have made a move, but it’ll be interesting to see if RB Leipzig plays hard to get. It might not be worth it to pursue the 26-year-old if the bid starts to get heavy.
