Cameroonian ace with Premier League pedigree ready to make ‘tantalising’ switch with Liverpool keen

Cameroonian ace could be playing for Liverpool next season

As reported by French publication L’equipe, Cameroonian ace, Bryan Mbeumo is ready to make a ‘tantalising’ switch to the Premier League and Liverpool are keen on signing him. The 24-year-old has made 27 appearances this season recording nine goals and six assists.

Mbeumo was unlucky as he picked up an ankle injury this season that kept him out for a total of 20 games. If he had managed to stay fit, Brentford’s season might’ve been completely different than what it was.

While the 24-year-old is grateful to Brentford for all the opportunities they’ve given him, it seems like he’s itching for a move to a top-flight club. Here’s what Bryan had to say when asked about a move this summer. (h/t L’equipe)

“I have spent five years at Brentford, at a club that has allowed me to grow and pass a milestone but yes, I would like to play in the biggest competitions, at the best clubs. It is tantalising to see some big clubs interested in me. We will see,”

It is clear to see that Bryan is itching to compete at the highest level. He has all the skills to play and succeed at a top-flight club. Mbeumo can move the ball around, is an excellent finisher, and plays some killer balls in from the right wing.

The Reds could definitely use a player of his quality. The Cameroonian would prove to be an excellent backup for Mo Salah. The 31-year-old has declined a little over the past season and things will only continue to get worse.

However, having an excellent backup like Bryan behind Salah will allow the Egyptian forward to play to his best ability while also getting some much-deserved rest.

Luckily, Mbeumo only has two years left on his deal so Liverpool can try and get him for cheap this summer.
