Liverpool are ready to battle Manchester City and Arsenal to sign Real Madrid star Rodrygo during the summer transfer window

Real Madrid star forward Rodrygo is a transfer target for Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal during the summer transfer window. Rodrygo is facing immense pressure to maintain his regular first-team place in the squad after they signed Kylian Mbappe.

Furthermore, highly-coveted youngster Endrick joins the Spanish giant for the next season after reaching an early agreement during last season. Madrid currently possesses Jude Bellingham, Vinicius Junior, Brahim Diaz and Arda Guler alongside Rodrygo, Mbappe and Endrink for next season.

The high level of competition leaves a lot of uncertainty for Rodrygo despite his tremendous performances throughout the last season. The 23-year-old played a key role under Carlo Ancelotti to help them achieve the La Liga and the Champions League.

The Brazil international made 51 appearances in all competitions for Madrid last season, contributing 17 goals and providing nine assists. Rodrygo brings flair, technique, pace and high work rate to the team despite going under the radar compared to others.

Last season, Bellingham and Vinicius received all the praises from the media and their fanbase despite Rodrygo’s equally important contributions. The Brazilian has not delivered any glimpse of desire to change the club despite his current predicament at the club.

According to Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo, Liverpool, Man City and Arsenal want Rodrygo to bolster their attacking department this summer. Liverpool are searching for a wide attacker to compete with their current options and eventually succeed their legend, Mohamed Salah.

Salah has enjoyed the prolific season but he is reaching the latter stages of his prime, becoming 32 in mid-June. Furthermore, the Reds’ attacking department struggled with finishing and complacency last season while prolific forward Diogo Jota missed many games.

Rodrygo fits the criteria that Liverpool seeks in an attacking player, while his versatility, productivity and technique are a bonus. However, the Brazilian is earning immense wages at Madrid and his demand would be similar which is a big issue for Liverpool.
