Liverpool seeking atleast €75m for first team ace who is happy at Anfield

Liverpool boss Arne Slot is mapping out his squad for next season and is ready to part ways with a number of players who are unlikely to be a part of his plans.

Joel Matip and Thiago Alcantara have already been released, whereas Sepp van der Berg could be the club’s first sale of the summer with Mainz looking to make his transfer permanent after a successful year on loan.

Team Talk has now reported that the Reds are ready to sell Luis Diaz if a suitable offer comes his way and have set a price tag of €75 million for the Colombian with Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain keen on his services.

Luis Diaz has been slapped with a high price tag by Liverpool.

Barcelona are planning on purchasing a new winger this summer but Luis Diaz’s price tag may be a stretch for the Catalans, who are going through a well-documented period of financial struggle.

They will be forced to sell a number of players, but even that does not guarantee that they will be able to back Hansi Flick with a €75 million spending in this summer’s transfer window.

PSG, on the other hand, could be best-placed to sign Diaz after seeing Kylian Mbappe depart. He relinquished a significant loyalty bonus and has freed up a huge chunk of their salary budget following his exit.

While PSG can comfortably afford to sign Diaz, it remains to be seen if the player himself is considering leaving Liverpool anymore after declaring his happiness at Anfield.

He was quoted saying the following:

“The truth is that I am very happy to be here (at Liverpool). Great years are coming for the club, I have no doubt about that.”

While there has been talk that Diaz could leave Liverpool, they will not be expected to force him out as he is one of their younger attacking options and it seems like only a matter of time before he has an explosive campaign.

Liverpool need to plan for life after Mohamed Salah and with Diaz being one of their brightest names, it is unlikely that they will entertain offers for him any time soon and particularly not in this summer.
